Nadezhda Voskoboynik, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia
Good afternoon!
I am a 1st-year student at Comenius University in Bratislava.
I live in a hostel, I work and I earn on my own needs!
Regarding my studies, I can’t say that studying in the Slovak language is easy, but I can also say that the language is very close to ours. If you study a language before entering, this will be the right decision!
Slovakia is a small country, but interesting for its tiny towns.
During the winter holidays, my Ukrainian friends and I traveled to the largest cities of this Lilliputian, by our standards, country. By the way, travel for students on the trains in Slovakia is completely free! Students enjoy this privilege and travel a lot on weekends.
For those people who have lived for a long time in a megalopolis or just a medium-sized city in Ukraine, Slovakia will immediately seem very boring (this was my first impression).
But I can reassure everyone, this is not a problem. There is everything for a comfortable life and relaxation.
If Slovakia is not enough, there are close neighboring countries where you can go on weekends to watch, explore and have fun! You shouldn’t worry about money for living, travel, and other needs either, because in Slovakia there are affordable jobs for everyone!
To be honest, my mom was a little worried about how I would live in Europe, in terms of finances. I can assure you, the possibility of earning in Slovakia is decent!
There are student employment agencies here, called brigades, whose services can be used completely free of charge. These agencies will select a job for you at a time convenient for you, according to your order.
Those who do not want to live in Slovakia for any reason, or are now thinking about Germany or the Czech Republic, etc., do not worry, there are many exchange programs for studies. I’ll tell you a secret, Slovakia for many is a springboard for further transfers. But it’s also cozy, fun and comfortable here!
I am sure that self-motivated and self-confident people can do everything!
I am very grateful to the company “Avers Express” for their help in choosing a faculty, in preparing documents for a university, helping in selecting a teacher for language learning, organizing summer language courses in Banska Bystrica, friendly relations and constant support from the company’s employees.
I wish all novice students and applicants who are thinking about where to study, not to be afraid of abroad, try and try!
At this moment in life, this is the most profitable investment in yourself or your children!
P.S. Slovaks and Slovak mentality are very close to ours! There is nothing to be afraid of!
